Completing Ones Dodge Charger with the Right Accessory

The Dodge Charger has been known to have a lengthy and fascinating history. This car made known by NASCAR and TV advertisements as well as some shows and movies, has topped all cars in the muscle car era. Its current release has endeared its followers so much because of its cheaper price and at the same time preserving its quality also. The first Dodge Charger was released in the mid 1960s. It became the attention-grabber of motorists as well as the general public. The first Dodge Charger has a two-door coupe that includes a fastback style and a large V8 power engine.

Like other cars in its generations, the Dodge Charger gradually lost its popularity because of the dramatic increment of fuel price and car insurance in 1970's. Perhaps, the second generation model of the Dodge Charger has been known to many. One interesting thing about the Dodge Charger was that it became an inspiration for the popular 80s TV show "The Dukes of Hazard" which features the fictional cars 1969 Charger Daytona and General Lee. The subsequent Dodge Chargers did not share the limelight of its two predecessors.

However during the middle of 1980's, Dodge Charger debuted with its economy hatchback that later evolved into the well-known Shelby Charger, named after its designer, Carroll Shelby. The latest version of the Dodge Charger adopted the sedan-type bodies with the inclusion of four doors. This would surely make the whole family to ride on it and at the same time enjoy the ride. With the interior having enough space and its standard features, the new Dodge Charger has made improved a lot from the original one. The iconic car's changes were credited to auto industry's shift to a more lucrative utility vehicle market. The new Dodge Charger still carries the Mercedes Benz platform that is also used in the Dodge Magnum and Chrysler 300.

Though compared to other mid-sized sedan in its class, the Dodge Charger is actually much bigger. The most recognizable detail of the new Dodge Charger is the front portion which retains the aggressiveness of the original Charger. And though it is a sedan, the new Dodge Charger features a sloping rear that is similar to that of a coupe. The SE model of the Dodge Charger features with its impressive 3.5 liter, 250 horsepower V6 engine.

Its performance model R/T is loaded with 340 hp, 5.7 liter V8 hardware. The leading SRT-8 (Street and Racing Technology) includes an impressive 425 hp, 6.1 liter, V8 engine.

Aside from the powerful engine, the SRT model is stuffed with bigger brakes, stiffer suspension and other design features. Due to its bulky size the new Dodge Charger has suffered some setbacks especially when it is not as agile as its much smaller counterparts. However its handling features remains to be safe though. The large interior and comfortable leg room earns some respect among old and new Dodge Charger fans. Dodge Charger adherents would be fascinated to meet new generation of Dodge Charger keychains out in the market.
